United African Community Organization (UACO) serves as a vibrant and unifying platform for African communities residing in the United States, with its headquarters in Michigan. Founded with the vision of fostering unity, celebrating diversity, and promoting socio-economic development, UACO has been a cornerstone in building bridges between various African communities and their newfound home in America.

UACO History

United African Communities Organization (UACO) originated from a shared vision of unity, progress, and empowerment among diverse African communities residing in the United States. Established in Michigan, UACO has grown exponentially, fostering community development, cultural preservation, and advocacy for Africans in the diaspora.

The foundation of UACO is built upon the diverse and vibrant tapestry of African culture, traditions, and values. The organization was created to address the need for a unified platform that could represent and advocate for the diverse needs of African communities in America.

About UACO President

Moses Lukwago Ed.S: UACO President (2022-2024)

Hailing from the vibrant country of Uganda, Moses Lukwago has been a resident of North America since 1987, embodying a journey of dedication, community engagement, and continuous learning. An illustrious alumnus of the University of Regina, Moses distinguished himself early on by earning a Bachelor of Education with Distinction. His pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there; he further acquired advanced degrees in Inter-disciplinary Technology from Eastern Michigan University and an Education Specialist in Leadership from Oakland University. In addition, he is a respected graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Canada.

Moses Lukwago Ed.S: UACO President (2022-2024)

Hailing from the vibrant country of Uganda, Moses Lukwago has been a resident of North America since 1987, embodying a journey of dedication, community engagement, and continuous learning. An illustrious alumnus of the University of Regina, Moses distinguished himself early on by earning a Bachelor of Education with Distinction. Moses’s passion lies in mobilizing community members, challenging them to band together for socio-economic advancement. He currently holds the esteemed position of President at the United African Communities Organization (UACO), which is headquartered in Michigan. His leadership role at UACO reflects his deep commitment to fostering unity and progress among the African diaspora.

Besides his pivotal role at UACO, Moses’s influence extends to several other organizations. He is a valued member of the boards of the African Caribbean Chamber of Commerce, the Uganda Community of Michigan, and the Kabaka Foundation (Midwest USA). These roles underscore his multifaceted involvement in various sectors, working towards the upliftment of diverse communities.

Moses is also the founding President of the Economic Support Initiatives for Africa, a testament to his visionary leadership. This organization is at the forefront of empowering marginalized communities in Africa by aiding them in initiating income-generating projects, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the continent.

Outside of his professional and community engagements, Moses is a man of simple pleasures. He finds solace in reading, appreciates the harmonies of music, and enjoys the serenity of long walks in parks. At the core of his life is his family; he is happily married to Juliet, and together, they are the proud parents of three beautiful children – Sanyu, Kirabo, and Tendo.
