Letter of Thanks and Appreciation

To: The African Community in Michigan

On behalf of the United African Community Organization (UACO), I sincerely thank the African community in Michigan for your tremendous support and participation in making the 23rd All African Diaspora Festival, held on July 4, 2026, a remarkable success.

This year’s festival celebrated the 23rd anniversary of African unity in the diaspora while commemorating 250 years of American independence. With an estimated 5,000–7,000 attendees, the event was peaceful, well-organized, and free from major incidents, reflecting the unity, discipline, and cultural pride of our community.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the presidents and leaders of more than 35 African national and provincial organizations, church and religious leaders, community stakeholders, elders, parents, youth, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the success of the festival.

Special recognition goes to our dynamic Mrs. Bridgett M’Bayo, President of UACO; The Africanist Mr. Moses Lukwago, Chairman; Rev. Dr. Beatrice. Alghali
the Executive Team; the Board Members; and youth leaders Ms. Aremo, Olajuwon, and Rashid for their dedication and leadership.

We also thank Mr. outgoing President of the Liberian Association, for coordinating with the Detroit Police Department and the City of Detroit; Professor Hemben, President of the Nigeria Foundation of Michigan; the RCCG; APC, Muslim,Zion,the Presidents of the Kenyan, Ghanaian, Guinea, Benin , Tanzania , Congo,Uganda, Gambia, Senegal, Malawi ,Cote D’ivoire, Mali , Sierra Leone,UAWOM
and Cameroonian organizations; including Anambra,Eko club of Detroit, Mbaise, YAC , Edo North,Odu’a organization Ezinwanne , WIMA Ikuwano /. Umahia, Ngwa,Owerri, Riversand all participating churches and community organizations for their partnership and support.

Our appreciation also goes to Mr. Aleboua. VP, Mr. Peter VP ,Mr. Francis, Dr Chief Alex ( OAU) Dr. Clifford, Mr. Antonia, Mr. and Mrs. Asiki, Mr Alghali, Mr Amadi, Mr Ajayi Dr Sagala,Mr Addo, Attorney Sohou, Mr Akinlua, Rev Boayue Mr Lee, Mr Tim,
H.E Fai Cheleuka,. Parker, Mrs. Toe, the President-Elect of the Liberian Association, Ms Amara the Secretary of the Liberian Association, and everyone whose commitment made this event possible.
